1) Overview
NIT (“we,” “us,” “our”) builds websites and apps that may use sign-in, storage, and AI features. This policy explains how we handle information when you use NIT services.
What does “secure mode” mean for some NIT apps?
Some NIT apps use a locked (“kiosk”) browser view that can only navigate to NIT-approved domains. This reduces risk from malicious links and keeps users inside the intended experience.
2) Information we may collect
The exact information depends on the app/site you’re using and the features you choose to enable. We only collect what’s needed to operate and improve the service.
Account & login
Email, user ID, authentication/session tokens, and basic account settings. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider and are not stored in plaintext by us.
App usage & diagnostics
Basic analytics, error logs, device/app version, and performance metrics to keep apps stable and fix bugs.
Content you provide (posts, chats, uploads)
Depending on the app, you may submit text, images, audio, or other content. We store the content you submit so the feature works (for example: saving a post, remembering a preference, or keeping a history you can revisit).
AI inputs & outputs
If you use AI features, we may send relevant prompts (your request and required context) to an AI provider and receive generated responses back. We aim to minimize what’s sent and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive data.
3) How we use information
- Provide the service: login, core app features, saved preferences, and account recovery.
- App memory & retention: store content and settings so the experience works across sessions/devices.
- AI features: generate text, voice, insights, or other outputs requested by you.
- Security: protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Stability & improvement: debug issues, reduce crashes, and improve performance.
4) Device permissions (camera, microphone, and more)
Some apps need device features to work. You can usually deny permissions, but features that depend on them may not function.
Camera permission
Used for scanning, uploading, or capturing images/video (example: scanning a page, taking a photo, or using an in-app camera feature).
Microphone permission
Used for voice features, audio recording, voice commands, or real-time interactions.
Location / notifications / storage (if used)
Some apps may use location to show relevant local results, notifications for reminders/updates, and storage access to save files you request. We only request what’s needed for that app.
“Camera and/or microphone access is required for video and audio features.”
5) Data sharing & third-party services
We may share limited information with vendors only when needed to operate the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Authentication & Database
Used for user login, session management, and storing app data for retention and “app memory.”
AI providers (when used)
Used to generate AI outputs requested by you. Prompts may include necessary context to produce results.
Other APIs
Depending on the app, we may also use third-party services for maps/places, payments, analytics, messaging, or media. Any API used is intended only for the app’s purpose.
6) Data retention & security
- Retention: we keep data as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
- Security: we use reasonable safeguards to protect data.
- Access control: accounts and systems are protected through authentication and restricted access.
Deleting data
Some apps may let you delete content directly in-app. If you need account deletion, use the request flow below. We may retain certain records when required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
7) Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain data. You can also control device permissions in your phone settings.
- Manage permissions: camera/mic/location from device settings.
- Opt out of optional features: don’t enable features you don’t want to use.
- Request help: contact us for account or data requests.
8) Request account deletion
To request deletion of your account and associated data, use the button below to open an email request. Please send the request from the same email used to create the account (or enter it below).
